With more than 10 years of professional cooking, Chef Daniel Wendorf left the famous Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains in Saint Moritz for the “exotic” Romania. After running La Mandragora’s kitchen, Daniel embarked onto a new venture: revealing the secrets of gourmet cooking to “home chefs”.
In love with Transylvania, Daniel is coming to Viscri to turn the gifts of the garden, forest and field into unforgettable culinary experiences. Join him and create sophisticated delicious dishes from wild herbs, berries, mushrooms and truffles, which you can easily replicate at home.
Every cooking class will be hands-on, including a complete 3-course menu. Be prepared to pick the ingredients from the garden, bake your own bread in the oven or smoke fresh river trout on the spot. When cooking is done, everyone is invited to savour the meal along with the pairing wines. Romanian labels that complement fresh and mild dishes, strong and spicy or earthy and powerful aromas will be revealed with pride and let you enjoy a complete gourmet experience.
