We all have an artist inside, but most of us don’t give it the opportunity to show itself. If it’s a shy one, it needs an inviting atmosphere and a bit of help from a creative friend. We happen to have just the right place and to know just the right person to make it happen: illustrator Madalina Andronic.

After studying illustration in London, Madi decided there is no place like home and returned to Bucharest with ideas for a lifetime of work. She wasted no time: her first book, Zana Zorilor fairy tale published by Vellant, is a feast for the eye. Don’t take our word for it, look it up in the bookshops. Two more books are waiting, creating a universe of delicate lines, rich colours and surprising details, all blended with plenty of clever humour.

Madi started The Awesome Project, a collection of original jewellery, tableware and other small objects, all handmade in porcelain and individually decorated with motives inspired from the Romanian folklore.

Let her spell you with her art. You will find it contagious!
